GUNDAROO FILM SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP
The World in Cinema
The Gundaroo Film Society (GFS) is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers to encourage interest in all genres of film. GFS is affiliated with the NSW Federation of Film Societies which is in turn a member of the Australian Council of Film Societies. Membership of these societies is essential for GFS in order to satisfy copyright legislation and to enable GFS to afford licensing fees for screening the films.
Accordingly, there are some general rules that we need to abide by such as maintaining details of membership, ensuring that we screen to members and guests only and not charging admission for single screenings.
Screenings are always great social events. The society plans a program of films for each year with screenings, usually two films, once a month on a Saturday night. Members are invited to bring food and drinks and tables are set up as part of the theatre.
As a member, you are entitled to invite three guests per season or one guest for the remainder of the season for any member joining at a reduced price after June. Membership is open to all Gundaroo and surrounding region residents, including Canberra.
In 2020 members have access to 17 films for the cost of $50.00 per person. From July half-yearly membership is available for $30.00 per person.
See the 2020 film program and membership application form links below.
All our movie nights, with the exception of November, allow you to enjoy a BYO meal with your film.
Meals can be sourced from Gundaroo's fine takeaway food establishments or you can bring your own.
