Late News
After the moving record of hardship in the depression years in Bread & Dripping and the
excellent role played by Aswan Reid in The New Boy in July, that most people who completed a
review form agreed was well done, we visit a girls' school in Venice in the 1800s.

This month we are screening the film Gloria on 16 August. The film, set in the 1800s at an
ancient girls' school in Venice, where a domestic servant discovers the joy of music while teaming up
with some talented young students. Directed by Margherita Vicario and starring Galatea Bellugi,
Carlotta Gamba and Veronica Lucchesi.

Doors open at 6:00 pm for members and their guests to enjoy their BYO meals and drinks,
and to socialise before the film.

Please note that the membership fee for the remaining half of season 2025 is $30 per person and
needs to be paid before the screening on 16 Aug 25.

in the menu above. Alternatively, you can pay by cash at the door, if preferred.

have changed since last season, just make a payment to the Film Society account,
making sure that your name(s) is/are included in the Reference or Comment fields
of the EFT payment, so we can readily identify your payment. It would also help if you
emailed info@gundaroofilms.com to advise of your payment.
