We have two films screening this month on Sat 21 September 2024. The films are Animating Aeroplane Jelly and The Merger.
Animating Aeroplane Jelly is a short documentary profiling the work of Australian animator Eric Porter. After a chance meeting with two entrepreneurs, Porter was commissioned to create a cinema film to promote their new Aeroplane Jelly product. The film was a great success and this film celebrates the turning point in Porter's career and also in the Australian animating industry. The film is directed by Michael Kraaz and stars Anais, Barbara and Leroy De Costa.
Please note that as this doco is only 24 min long there is no trailer.
The Merger is an Oz/drama. The township of Bodgy Creek has seen better days: the population is dwindling, jobs are scarce & the litter has built up around the fading Tidy Town sign. The next victim of the town's decline is the cash strapped Aussie Rules footy club. Barely able to field a team, the club is reeling from news that their clubrooms have been condemned due to asbestos contamination. When former football star Troy Carrington [Damian Callinan] returns to his hometown he is persuaded to coach the struggling team and looks for an innovative solution to the problems of the club and possibly the town. Directed by Mark Grentell and starring Damian Callinan, Kate Mulvany and John Howard.

Doors open at 6:00 pm for members and guests to BYO meals and drinks to enjoy and have time to socialise before the film.
The film starts at 7:00 pm.
